We had some great snacks growing up – much better than the snacks kids these days have. Today's kids have healthy, organic, all-natural snacks (say it with me kids, "boooooo"), while we had snacks that were so neon they probably glowed in your stomach after you ate them. Sadly, most of the coolest and weirdest treats from our childhood truly are a thing of the past now, and now all we have left of them are our memories and this list. So enjoy!
First off, let's have a moment of silence for the Burger King Chicken Fries. People really love these things. This is a direct quote from the Bring Back Burger King's Chicken Fries FaceBook page: "2015 is here. We have been told Chicken Fries would make a return this year. Thus far, no announcement has been made, and Burger King has lied to us many times before."
If you had cool parents, you had Pop Tarts for breakfast. If you had lame parents who were all like, "You can't eat a cookie for breakfast, Stacey," then you had a bowl of yogurt and vowed to yourself you'd eat Pop Tarts for breakfast every day once you were 18 and living on your own. Then, of course, you never did eat Pop Tarts for breakfast every day, because you realized you really shouldn't eat cookies for breakfast.
While Pop Tarts are certainly still on grocery store shelves, certain flavors from our childhood are no longer available, such as the Chocolate Vanilla Creme. To say this was the greatest breakfast food is to do it a grave disservice. It was also the greatest lunch, dinner, snack, and late night munchie food ever created. No debate.
Rumor has it that the Mars Company discontinued making this popular candy bar because the Mars family didn't really care too much for peanut butter, which makes them the most awful, hateful, and despised company in the history of candy making.
Sure, it was exactly like eating tiny shards of fire that singed your tastebuds for days after. But it still got your breath hella fresh and that pain was a small price to pay for fresh, kissable breath.
