And you thought trust fund kids were flashy with their money. Turns out, kids of drug lords are way, way flashier. And we mean wayyyyyy flashier. You'd think they would want to be a bit more discreet, given where their money comes from. But nope, these cocaine heirs don't mind that you know they're rolling in dirty money. They love to flaunt their wealth on one of the most public platforms available – Instagram.
The children of Mexico's most powerful narcos have taken to Instagram to show off their luxurious lifestyles. Using the hashtags #narcos and #narcostyle, these cartel kids post lavish photos of gold-plated guns, domesticated jungle cats and stacks of cash – sometimes all at once.
Let's take a look at one of these spoiled cartel kids. This is Ismael "El Mayito" Zambada Imperial, the son of "El Mayo" Zambada, one of the main bosses of the infamous Sinaloa cartel.
His IG feed shows off his lavish lifestyle: private jets, luxury cars, blurry women. His golden rule for Insta posts: If he doesn't look like a total douchebag in the photo, he doesn't post it. His gramming days were cut short when he was arrested by Mexican authorities in November 2014. Ten counts of posting too many pictures of food.
This was posted by José Rodrigo Aréchiga Gamboa, who's commonly known as "El Chino àntrax," an infamous hitman and high-ranking boss of the Sinaloa Cartel. The photos of his ostentatious lifestyle that he posted to IG helped give law enforcement officials important clues about his movements and contacts. I don't know about you guys, but if I were in the drug business and/or the greasing people business, I would not be posting about my money or my location. Basically, I wouldn't be as dumb as El Chino here.
