As a man, if you could look like any one of the characters from Captain America: The First Avenger, who would it be? Probably Chris Evans as Captain America right? That seems like the obvious choice. You might even go for one of the other soldiers if all your other options were taken. Well, not everyone feels the same way. Some people might opt for another character. And one man did. Someone actually transformed themselves into the villain from that movie, Red Skull. And yeah, that is the Red Skull you're thinking of. The one with the red skull.
Red Skull, played by Hugo Weaving, was the badly deformed Nazi from the movie. It’s hard to imagine that anyone would want to look like him, but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is one man from Venezuela who underwent some serious surgery to look just like this guy. And yes, he really does look just like him after the surgeries. We have to warn you, these photos are not for the faint of heart. But you're also not going to want to look away.
This is Henry Damon. He is a 37-year-old man from Venezuela who began an intensive body modification process to look like Red Skull. This is what he looked like before the surgeries. A normal, average and happy young man with no history of any abnormal medical or mental disorders.
"He has loved comic books since he was a kid and always dreamed of being Red Skull, but never got round to doing it," said one of his friends. Well, he really did get around to doing it now.
You actually won't believe what he looks like now. Yes, it is not too late to turn back. But again, we know that you probably can't.
Damon then tattooed his eyeballs jet-black. You hear about people tattooing all parts of their body, but getting their eyeballs tatted up is pretty new and sounds like an excruciating process. The first guy to ever experiment with eyeball ink was an artist named Luna Cobra. He tried to mimic the blue-eyed characters from the David Lynch film, Dune.
Well, being that Red Skull is literally just a skull, Damon decided to get rid of his nose. Before the surgery, he had to get evaluated by a doctor. The doctor who performed the modification was Emilio Gonzalez. Specifically, he was a doctor. He ended up dropping out of med-school to focus on extreme body modification.
This is what the almost finished product looks like. You would think that someone who would be into doing this wasn’t completely right in the head, but Gonzalez ensures that Henry is of sound mind…and informs us that he is a father.
“He’s an excellent son, husband and father, who has an extreme taste for body modification,” he said.
That makes you wonder how his children feel about his face. Are they kind of terrified of it? Or maybe they think it is totally cool?
He isn't quite done yet. He still wants to tattoo his entire face red. Go figure.
Damon looks like he is permanently dressed for Halloween. However, if he ever did want to change up his look, his nose-less face could also work for Voldemort. He’d just need a lot of pasty white makeup to achieve the look.
But Damon certainly isn't the only one who has taken body modifications to the extreme.
Meet Maria Jose Cristerna is a Mexican woman who holds the Guinness World Record for the most modified woman in the world. You’d think that she’d be a death metal groupie, but she is actually a lawyer and a mother of four children. She started tattooing her body after she got divorced from her husband.
Cristerna has tattoos covering 96 percent of her body, and 45 percent of her body has implants. She’s now known around the world as “Vampire Woman.” But, believe it or not, Cristerna is actually a devout Catholic. She says that her modifications are symbols of strength and perseverance after experiencing years of domestic abuse.
Dennis Avner, also known by his Native American name “Stalking Cat,” was another man who took body modifications to the extreme. He devoted his life to transforming himself into a tiger. He got stripes tattooed all over his face and got dental implants to mirror a cat’s fangs. Sadly, Avner committed suicide in 2012.
Chavez, now 37-years-old, began getting plastic surgeries in his early 20s to look like Superman. He’s turned into a huge celebrity in his country, and can be found wearing the Superman costume around his hometown of Calamba. He has even appeared on an episode of the U.S. series Botched.
Justin Jedlica is another man who has had countless surgeries to look like a fictional character. Instead of a superhero or villain, Justin has transformed himself into a Ken doll. Jedlica has also appeared on the show Botched. Most recently, he’s made headlines for getting the world’s first six-pack ab implants.
"For the first time in history, you can look like a fitness freak without doing a single sit up!" said Jedlica's doctor. Um...sign us up? We're actually unsure. We're split fifty fifty on wanting to look fit while sitting on the couch and eating piles of cookies, or ending up with mushy weird abs after a botched surgery. We're going to just take the pile of cookies and call it a day.
